Kashi Vishwanath breathe of the heart of the Hindu religion

 
 
 
Situated at the most holiest state of India, Kashi Vishwanath is one of the sacred abodes of lord Shiva. With more than 3500years of a history, this place is renowned as Kashi and hence the temple is famous in the form of Kashi Vishwanath temple. The temple is dedicated to the deity Vishweshwara and it has been rebuilt by many times. The present one was built by a female Maratha Monarch named Ahilya Bai Holkar.
Formation of the temple:
Vishwanath temple is 15.5 m high and covered with the 1000 kilos of gold which was donated by the Maharaja Ranjit Singh of Lahore. The Jyotirlinga in this temple is enclosed in a silver altar.
Significance:
Varanasi has been popular as the “city of Ghats” is enameled with the presence of lord Shiva in its air. It is expected that more than 3000 devotees visit to kashi Vishwanath every day. Visitors can enjoy seeing the Sandhya Aarti which is held at the river side of Ganga in the evening times. But the number of tourist sometimes increases and reaches a lakh at the occasion of Maha Shivratri.
According to legend people who once take a bath in the holy water of Ganga in Varanasi and offers prayers to the Vishwara Jyotirlinga in Kashi Vishwanath get salvation or Moksha.
Travel:
By Bus: Almost all the cities in India are well linked to Varanasi by road. Continuous buses are available from all the major cities of UP to Varanasi.
By Train:
There are two train runs to reach Vishwanath temple namely Varanasi junction and Kashi junction. Both of them are well associated to all the main cities of India.
By Air:
The city Varanasi offer well connecting flights from Delhi, Mumbai and Agra.
Vishwanath temple should be visited at least once in a while.
